The Latest

We have updated our website for the new and exciting upcoming season. Please check out all the great Programs and Events and the Birding Field Trips we have scheduled. There is something for everyone. 

See who our new officers are for the upcoming year.

If you are in our area, please stop by and visit our Nature Center and hike our trails. You never know what you might see. We have a great collection of rare and endangered plants.

We have a Kids Trail Guide you can download from our website or pick up in our Nature Center, as well as find out about all the local birding hotspots right here on our website. 

 

 

Mark your calendars now for these upcoming programs and trips!

  November 18th Dinner on the grounds.

  November 24th Birding Field Trip Circle B Bar Ranch. This ranch is in Lakeland. We will decide how far to walk when we meet at the entrance to the ranch. This area has marshy areas and beautiful old oaks and borders Lake Hancock. Truly a spectacular place. Spoonbills, ducks, wading birds, warblers, something for everyone. Meet at 6:45a.m. for car-pooling at Babson Park Nature Center.

December 11th David Price, director of Bok Tower, will present a humorous, but informative, talk about lawns. Program will be held at the Babson Park Woman's Club. .

December 29th Christmas Bird Count Come out and help us with this all day adventures. Just let us know in advance that you will be their so we can put you in a group. The groups will each have their own leader and their own circle of area to bird. We will count birds within a 10 mile area of Lake Wales. In the evening the group leaders will meet at Babson Park Nature Center to complete all the bird sighted   Dinner 6p.m. Program 7p.m.

The Ridge Audubon Society's Babson Park Center, located just south of Lake Wales on the Scenic Highway (SR17/US27A), is a gateway to America's most diverse eco-system. The Lake Wales Ridge offers the highest concentration of rare and endangered species in North America. We hope you stop by on your next visit to our area. Walk our nature trail, visit our museum and enjoy all the area has to offer.
