Programs
are held at the Ridge Audubon Nature Center in Babson Park.
Potluck dinners with programs following are scheduled on
the third Tuesday of each month, with the exception of December,
when it will be on the second Tuesday. Programs are to be as
follows.
September
18th
Beth
Geils, who was honored as National Science Teacher of the year
in 2007, will be our speaker. She has been named to a panel that
will recommend science curriculum for Florida Schools for the
next year. Beth will offer a presentation on this subject then
ask for input from the audience.
October
16th

Dinner
on the Grounds.
December
11th
David
Price, director of Bok Tower, will present a humorous, but
informative, talk about lawns. Program will be held at the
Babson Park Woman's Club.
January
15th
Bob
Montarnaro will give a presentation, "ospreys of Pelican
Island National Wildlife Refuge: An Exploration into the
Life of the Fish Hawk." This follows the nesting attempts,
through photography, by a pair of ospreys throughout the 2006
nesting season.
February
19th
Wayne
Hill plans another of his well-received presentations, this time
possibly on the sounds of the African Frog.
March
18th
Buck
and Linda Cooper will help us welcome spring with a presentation
on butterflies. They recently returned from a visit to Mexico
where they studied these creations.
April
15th
Art
Falconer will show pictures of wildlife from either Kenya or the
Amazon and tell of his travels there. Art also plans to cover
one of these trips at a brown-bag luncheon at the Center, dates
to be announced.
